Abstract: Yamuna River has been subjected to severe anthropogenic pressures such as water abstraction, discharge of wastewater, development activities on river floodplains, deforestation in the river basin resulting in reduced flow, loss of habitat, deterioration of water quality and loss of biological diversity. We studied hydrological characteristics such as river flow, water depth and quality and floodplain vegetation characteristics of Okhla Bird Sanctuary (OBS), a human modified floodplain wetland formed due to the construction of Okhla barrage across the Yamuna River in National Capital Region (NCR), on the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border. The flow data for Yamuna was collected from Delhi Jal board and irrigation department of Uttar Pradesh. Study indicates reduced flow in the river downstream Wazirabad with no release of water in the summers of 2006 and 2010. For bathymetry, GARMIN 160 C Fish Finder was used after dividing study area into 50 m x 50 m grids. About 65% area had depth less than 2 m indicating more of shallower areas. Results for water quality analysis show a dissolved oxygen level at 1.6 ± 0.84 mgl-1, Biological and Chemical Oxygen demand at 16.72 ± 4.28 mgl-1 and 39.8 ± 7.71 mgl-1 respectively, indicating a high organic load in the river. The Sanctuary is facing serious threats from the rapid proliferation of Typha angustifolia and Eichhornia crassipes which were dominant species in shallow water and open water habitats, respectively. Thus, the remaining Yamuna river flood plain in the NCR, Delhi should be declared as ecologically sensitive area and appropriate measures should be taken to maintain its integrity.

Abstract: Software testing is the process of determining the precision, quality, completeness and security of the software systems. An important step in testing software is the generation of test cases, whose quality plays a vital role in determining the time for testing and subsequently its cost. In this research, it is shown that both structural and behavioural diagrams can be used to represent specifications in a single model using High Level Petri Nets (HLPN). This research focuses on automated generation of test models from Petri nets. Moreover, generating consistent formal models (HLPN) from informal models (UML) is the highlight of this research.

Abstract: Information on the web is prodigious; searching relevant information is difficult making web users to rely on search engines for finding relevant information on the web. Search engines index and categorize web pages according to their contents using crawlers and rank them accordingly. For given user query they retrieve millions of webpages and display them to users according to web-page rank. Every search engine has their own algorithms based on certain parameters for ranking web-pages. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is that technique by which webmasters try to improve ranking of their websites by optimizing it according to search engines ranking parameters. It is the aim of this research to identify the most popular SEO techniques used by search engines for ranking web-pages and to establish their importance for indexing and categorizing web data. The research tries to establish that using more SEO parameters in ranking algorithms helps in retrieving better search results thus increasing user satisfaction. In the accomplished research, a web based Meta search engine is proposed to aggregates search results from different search engines and rank web-pages based on new page ranking algorithm which will assign heuristic page rank to web-pages based on SEO parameters such as title tag, Meta description, sitemap etc. The research also provides insight into techniques which webmasters can use for better ranking their websites in Google and Bing. Initial results has shown that using certain SEO parameters in present ranking algorithm helps in retrieving more useful results for user queries. These results generated from Meta search engine outperformed existing search engines in terms of better retrieved search results and high precision.

International Journal of High Dilution Research , 2012,
Abstract: In vitro assessment of antimalarial drug susceptibility of Plasmodium has been a major research success, which has paved the way for the understanding of parasite and rapid screening of antimalarial drugs for their effectiveness. In the present study a preliminary screening to check the antiplasmodial activity of mother tincture ( ) and various potencies (6C, 30C, 200C) of homeopathic medicines Cinchona officinalis/china (Chin.), Chelidonium majus (Chel.) and Arsenicum album (Ars.) were done by assessing the in vitro schizont maturation inhibition assay. A significant reduction in the growth of intraerythrocytic stages of P. berghei was observed with decreasing dilution of and various potencies of Chin., Chel. and Ars. exhibiting a dose dependent effect. Maximum schizont maturation inhibition was observed by Chin. (1:1), Chin. 30 (1:1, 1:2) and Chel. 30 (1:1) i.e. 80%. The standard drug CQ at 10 μM concentration exhibited 95.4±1.6% inhibition of schizont maturation. Ars. 30 (1:1) also have been found to possess strong antiplasmodial efficacy with 75.5±2.6% schizont inhibition. The presence of free merozoites in Ars. 200 with weak schizonticidal inhibition activity (40-45%) also pointed towards the ability of parasite to survive in the given drug pressure.
