Rankings for Open Access Journals Released

There are more than 25,000 open access (OA) journals published around the world and only about 4600 journals are indexed by Google Scholar Metrics (h5 index) as of July 2016. To help researchers and publishers learn more about OA publishing, those indexed OA journals are ranked by subject. The basic benchmark used in the OA journals rankings is h5 index, the journal h5 index and related citations data are obtained from Google Scholar. This ranking work was performed by the team of jourlib.org (OALib).

Currently, you can view a journals’ ranking by selecting proper research keywords from the A-Z list on this page: OA Publications’ Ranking. For example: Food Science & Technology. Meanwhile, as for the journals with broad fields, you can find the ranking on the page of Mega Journals.

Besides browsing by given research keywords, we will also provide the search function for specific publications or keywords. This function will be released later.

The Open Access Journals Ranking will be updated on the annual basis. If you have any comments or inquiries, please send them to [email protected].
